Review: Maybelline Colour Tattoo

Hello Lovelies!

I might be a bit late to the party, but I've recently started using the maybelline colour tattoos. The first one I bought was in the shade 'on and on bronze', which I've been using so much, especially now autumn is coming!

I definitely like to keep colours neutral when it comes to my eyes, I don't tend to go for anything too bold. Bronze tones in particular are my favourite for the evenings or even sometimes when I'm feeling a bit more adventurous in the day, and this one is so so pretty. I love the shimmer in it and it looks amazing both on its own and blended with other tones. Being able to wear it on its own speeds up the getting ready process a little when I'm in a rush! When I have more time I've been loving blending it with colours from my MUA 'Undress Me Too' palette which are also quite neutral.

The colour really does last as long as it says, it also doesn't smudge which I've sometimes found with other cream shadows. Once you've applied it you're good to go, and that's definitely a plus because I hate having to touch up my makeup throughout the day!

I highly recommend these if you're looking for a long lasting cream shadow. It's a great dupe for the mac paint pots, which are obviously much more expensive. I really want to get more of these soon, and I think the shimmery tones will be perfect for the Christmas party season (yes, I'm already excited for Christmas).

Take a break

Hello Lovelies!

I am so aware that I've been rubbish at keeping any sort of routine with my posts recently. This week I'm moving into a new house for my second year of university and to be honest I've been a bit overwhelmed! Having four months off has felt a bit strange, so once I'm settled back into uni life I'll hopefully get into a routine.

Whether it involves school, uni, work, family etc., life can get pretty busy from time to time. Sometimes it all gets a bit much and this week my body has been telling me to chill out for a minute. I've realised how important it is to take a minute to relax and you have to listen to your body sometimes whether you want to or not! Taking a day to yourself to get bits and bobs done, or just catching up on that programme you missed last week can really make a difference. I find if I get too stressed about getting things done I spend so much time worrying about it that nothing actually gets done at all!

It's okay to want a little 'me time', and taking a break makes everything feel a lot more manageable. This year I'm definitely going to make sure I take breaks because sometimes I'm a bit of a workaholic and forget to slow down. Even if you feel like you can cope, don't forget to relax and take a break once in a while, because we're only human and I think we forget that sometimes.

Review: Thea Skincare

We use so many different products and chemicals on our skin, which is why I always like to try new products with natural ingredients. I've recently tried the hand and body butter and the coffee and shea butter body scrub from thea skincare. I've used them for a couple of weeks now so I thought I'd do a little review and let you know what I thought!

Body butter

The smell is quite fresh, but I do tend to prefer coconut body butters. I know other people who love the smell of this product, so I suppose it's just personal preference. It doesn't feel too oily on the skin and absorbs quite quickly which I like, as I hate having to wait ages to get dressed after using a product! I've been using it to prevent peeling since I'm trying my best to maintain my holiday tan, and so far I think it's helped. It's also nice knowing that the ingredients are so natural. I think the only thing holding me back is my attachment to my body shop coconut body butter!

Body Scrub

If you love the smell of coffee, then you'll love this product. It feels a little bit rough, but it feels like it's really exfoliating the skin. The smell of coffee once you've used the product isn't too strong, so the coffee haters out there might not actually notice it too much. It works well as a scrub, but as I've been trying to preserve the tan I haven't been using it as much as the body butter.
I'd really recommend these products if you're looking to give your skin a break from the chemicals and try something really natural. They also came in a cute little bag which is a nice touch. I think I preferred the body butter to the scrub, but mostly because I tend to use body butters more!

Holiday Haul

Admittedly I probably could have bought all these items in the UK, but that's beside the point. To be honest I was a little disappointed that I didn't find any stereotypically French shops, but that didn't stop me from picking up a few things!

My place or yours| Duty Free
I always buy my perfume at the duty free, and as we'd had such a nightmare journey, I felt I could justify treating myself. I went in with a different perfume in mind, but I sort of gravitated towards the benefit counter so that went out the window. I love this scent, but I'm useless at describing smells! It smells amazing and that's all you need to know.

Mug, Bowl & Spoon| Carrefour
Carrefour is pretty much the French equivalent of Asda. We were doing a bit of food shopping and I got distracted by pink things as per.  I admit buying a single spoon rather than a whole cutlery set seems odd, but who doesn't want a spoon to match their cereal bowl? (I have a problem). I also have a tendency to drop mugs, so I actually did need a new tea mug to take to uni, and obviously it had to match the bowl.

Bracelet & Ring| C&A
I'm pretty much obsessed with rings and wear them every day, so I know I'll wear this one a lot this autumn. I loved the bracelet because it's pretty but quite plain, so I thought it would go with a lot of outfits. I tend to buy things that I can wear with a lot, I can't stand having something that I'll only wear a couple of times and I hate wasting money.

Peplum tops| H&M
I'm really loving how much peplum is in the shops at the moment, and I'm loving the patterns on these tops even more. I love cute floral patterns I seem to be drawn to gingham., despite how much it reminds me of primary school summer dresses. I thought these would both be nice to wear during the day with jeans, but I can also wear them out in the evening.

Hard rock cafe t shirt| Hard Rock Cafe
Visiting the hard rock cafe was definitely one of the highlights of my holiday, it was a really nice evening. We had a table with a view of palm trees covered in fairy lights and the promenade out the window, which was pretty nice to look at! After the food coma inducing meal, we hit the shop and I bought this fitted tee. I opted for grey because knowing me a white shirt would be grey in about 5 minutes so it seemed like the sensible option.
