Summer OOTD

Hello Lovelies!

So after two days in the car with no wifi (it was tough), I finally arrived at the holiday apartment I'll be calling home for the next two weeks! Once I'd had a little explore this morning and stopped taking pictures of every palm tree in sight, I took advantage of the scenery to take a few snaps of today's outfit.

The Bodysuit: Missguided| I love this bodysuit and it was a bargain in the missguided sale! It's so comfortable which is definitely a plus in the heat! The back is quite low so I wear it with a bra with a clear back. I think it's perfect for summer, it can also be dressed up with heels or dressed down with jeans for a more casual look.

The Shoes: Primark| I loveee these white strappy sandals, they're definitely one of my favourite Primark purchases. Because they're open toed I painted my toenails with the Barry M Gelly Polish in Green Berry, which happened to go nicely with the bodysuit I wore. I didn't bring many pairs of shoes with me because most of my time will be spent lying on the beach which doesn't really require footwear!

The Skirt: Primark| I wear this skirt so much because it goes with pretty much anything! I personally think every girl needs a skater skirt in her wardrobe. I often find skirts are too big round my waist so the elasticated waist is a plus.

No doubt I'll be taking more snaps of my outfits in the next couple of weeks, so I'll post more when I'm not busy tanning!

Superdrug & Boots Haul

Hello Lovelies!

Firstly, let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that my blog reached 300 bloglovin followers yesterday! When I started this blog 2 weeks ago I had no idea if anyone would actually read it. Thank you to anyone who's visited my blog, It's nice to know I'm not always talking to myself xoxo

Now for the haul..

I've been so busy the last couple of days with uni things, but even when I'm busy I still manage to fit in a bit of shopping! I popped into Superdrug and Boots and picked up a few things- in my defence I was partly shopping for holiday supplies.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation| £5.99
Okay so admittedly the first item I got wasn't particularly a 'holiday essential', but I've been wanting to try a new foundation for a while. Usually I hate how foundation feels on my skin and find it quite heavy, but I've heard a lot of good things about this foundation and for the price I thought it was definitely worth a try. I've only used it a couple of times but so far I'm loving it, hopefully after a few more uses I'll still feel the same! I bought a shade darker than I would usually because when I get back from my holiday I'll be a bit more tanned (I hope).

Rimmel Stay Matter Transparent Powder| £2.99
Given that I'll be in in the sun pretty much all day for 2 weeks, shine control is necessary. I've been using the Maybelline Matte Maker recently and I'm really not loving it. I've seen some good reviews but personally I find it a bit cakey and it doesn't feel that nice on my skin. I thought a transparent powder would be lighter because I'm not looking for coverage on holiday, so I returned my previous powder which I can trust to do the job!

Vaseline Aloe Sensitive Antiperspirant| £1
This may not be the most interesting purchase, but everyone needs a decent antiperspirant, especially in the summer! I always repurchase this one because it's sensitive and works well, I also personally love the smell!

Nivea Tinted Moisturiser| £1.79
When I'm in the sun I don't like to wear foundation because it's quite thick. I find tinted moisturiser is a good alternative if you're not looking for coverage but just want to brighten the skin a little bit. It also has SPF 8, so it gives a little bit of protection from the sun. I partly bought this one because it was so cheap, but I also really like using it so that's a bonus!

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer| £5.99
As well as the Stay Matte Powder I also bought the Stay Matte Primer, and I'm now realising this post is a pretty good ad for Rimmel! Again I haven't tried this much but so far I like it. I was going to get the Maybelline alternative, but I realised this one was both cheaper and there was more product in the bottle, so it seemed better value. I also love Rimmel's other products so I'm pretty sure I'll like using it.

Garnier Body Tonic| £3.48
I bought this to rehydrate my skin after being in the sun, but I also wanted to try a firming moisturiser. I've been using this for two days and I already loveee it. It absorbs really quickly so you can put clothes on pretty much straight away, and it makes my skin feel soo soft. I definitely prefer it to my old moisturiser already, but obviously I'll have to use it for a bit longer to see if it firms the skin.

Tangle Teezer- The Original| £10.99
This was the only product I purchased from Boots. I'm not entirely sure why I don't already own one of these, I've definitely been missing something! I have long hair so it gets tangled quite easily, especially on holiday with the sea water and the sea breeze (It's a hard life). I used this once and knew it was going to be better than my current hairbrush. It doesn't pull at the tangles so I'm hoping it'll help keep my hair in better condition as well as getting the tangles out!

Simple Foaming Cleanser| £2.99
Again, not particularly a holiday purchase but I've been using simple cleanser for a while so I thought I'd give the foaming cleanser a try (partly because it sounded more fun, I don't know). It's making my skin feel so soft and feels really gentle. I can never recommend simple products enough to be honest!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, if you want proper reviews on any of the products just let me know in the comments!

Nails of the Week

Hello Lovelies!

At the moment I rarely don't have my nails painted, so it seemed wrong that I haven't done a nail polish post yet. Below are some of my favourite polishes, I have quite a few favourites which is probably why I paint my nails so often! Today I decided to try out my Barry M Gelly Polish in Prickly Pear because I haven't had chance to use it yet. Being the indecisive person that I am, I also painted one nail on each hand in a sparkly dark purple.

Prickly Pear
Amethyst Flash

The dark purple is sparkly which the picture doesn't show very well. I haven't used it with another colour before, let me know what you think!

Liebster Award 2.0

Hello lovelies!

So I was nominated for the liebster award for a second time by the lovely Jordanne (check out her liebster award post!). As I've done this tag once I'm just going to answer the questions but see my previous post for my nominations and follow their blogs!

1. What are your current favourite songs?

Ed Sheeran- One (or just his whole new album because it's amazing okay.) and Troye Sivan- Happy Little Pill

2. What made you decide to start a blog?

I spent so much time reading blogs/watching youtube videos this year when I probably should have been writing essays (oops). I've wanted to try it myself for a while, so here I am!

3. What is your favourite film?

As I said in my previous post, at the moment The Fault In Our Stars. It's emotionally draining and made me really sad but for some reason that was enjoyable, I don't know.

4. What is your favourite sport?

I'd say tennis because I played it a lot when I was younger. I'm probably really bad now but I still enjoy it!

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I do a lot of dancing in my spare time. This year I was really busy at uni because I got involved with the dance societies. I'm not entirely sure how I manage to get work done, but somehow I do.

6. What is/was your favourite subject when in school?

Dance was definitely my favourite A Level subject, I also feel obliged to say Psychology seeing as it's my degree subject.

7. What team are you vans or converse?

Converse- said with no hesitation

8. Who is your inspiration role model?

I have lots, people inspire me for lots of reasons.

9. What phone do you have?

iPhone 5c in white #commonwhitegirl

10. What is your favourite animal?

I love dogs (mine in particular)

11. What is your favourite shop?
At the moment superdrug, I probably have a silly amount of points on my beauty card. I work in a shop next door to superdrug and my bank account isn't loving it.

Hope you enjoyed reading my answers, and go to my previous liebster award post to see who I nominated!

Bedroom Haul

Hello lovelies!

Soon I'll be moving into a new house for my second year of University, so naturally I took this opportunity to go shopping and buy a few new things for my bedroom. I pretty much had the whole room planned out in my mind until I saw it for the first time and realised the walls were mint green. Let's just say green wouldn't have been my first choice but you can't repaint a student house, so I'll work with it!

1. Grey Patchwork Throw| £17 I bought this grey quilt from Primark and fell in love with it (I'll admit the bow partly drew me to it). It has patches of various patterns including florals and checks. My room is the smallest of the house, so the bed will probably be the main focus, and I thought the quilt would make it look really pretty.

2. Jewellery Insert| £8 I recently took a trip to IKEA and despite the sometimes frustrating one-way system, I really enjoyed it. I bought this felt tray to organise my jewellery which fits nicely in my drawers. I've been looking for a better way to store my jewellery for a while, as everything was starting to get tangled in my jewellery box and getting anything out of it was a bit of a nightmare. So far this is working really well and I can see what I've got a lot better.

3. 'Home' Cushion| £6 I loveee having cushions on my bed because I like to make it as cosy as possible. I saw this cushion in Primark and loved it (it also matched the colour of my quilt which was a bonus). At University it's sometime hard not to get homesick, so I thought having this cushion in my room might make it feel a little more homely.

4. Storage Boxes| £7 This year I sometimes found it hard to keep my room tidy (especially given how small it was). With a growing collection of beauty products I needed somewhere to store them. I thought these boxes from IKEA would be really helpful, and so far I've found it's made my room feel so much more organised. I bought two because I didn't think all my products would fit in one (stereotypical female right here). This should really help keep my room organised- compact storage is definitely necessary in a 9 person house!

5. Duvet cover sets| £12 each I've always had a single bed and I'm finally moving into a room with a double bed which I'm so excited about. Obviously this means I needed to buy new duvet covers for a double bed. The first one (right) is from Asda's Home section, which distracted from my food shopping as per. It has a mixture of patches including floral and stripe patterns which I'm praying don't clash with my walls, we'll see! The second one (left) was from primark and I love the grey lace pattern at the top. The rest of the duvet has small grey flowers on it, which fits really well with the grey floral theme I seem to have unintentionally gone for!

This is just a small selection of what I'll have in my room, obviously I will incorporate a bit of colour other than grey! I'm also planning to cover my room with fairy lights but that goes without saying.

Hope you enjoyed this haul, let me know what you think!

Liebster Award

I was really happy to be tagged by Charlotte (check out her blog!)in something called the Liebster Award, which is for new bloggers. The blogger answers 11 questions given by person who nominated them, and then tags up and coming bloggers with under 200 followers who they think deserve to be recognised.

Rules!

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you
2. Answer the set of questions they gave you
3. Nominate bloggers and let them know!

Here are my questions and answers:

1. Why you started your blog?
I spend a lot of time reading beauty blogs and watching youtube videos and it's always been something I wanted to try myself. Now I have a couple of months off from university it seemed like a good time to give it a go!

2. Who your favourite blogger is?

Picking one is ridiculously hard (I'm useless at this). If I HAD to pick one, I'd say Sprinkle Of Glitter right now, but I'm pretty sure I have a new favourite every day, what a useless answer.

3. Do you upload youtube videos?

At the moment I haven't uploaded any videos. I really wanted to start making videos but it's quite a daunting thing to do, so I decided starting a blog was a good way to share my views first. Hmm we'll see..

4. If you could ask your future self a question what would it be?

To be honest I don't think I'd want to know anything about my future self, I'd rather be surprised- hopefully in a good way.

5. Who is your biggest inspiration?

Another impossible question. I'm inspired by people all the time for different reasons, I don't think I can pick one, sorry!

6. If you could be friends with any youtuber who would it be?

I think being friends with Bethany Mota would be a lot of fun, and she'd definitely be a good person to go shopping with.

7. How long have you had your blog for?

I wrote my first post roughly a week ago, so not long at all!

8. What is your favourite movie?

hmm, I don't think I've ever had one favourite movie, I change my mind all the time. At the moment I'd say The Fault in Our Stars because it's the last movie I watched and I loved it(I legitimately cried like a baby).

9. If you could only shop from one clothes shop for the rest of your life which would it be?

I always manage to find the odd gem in Primark and their prices are obviously appealing so I think I'd go for Primark. Also if I could only shop in one place forever I wouldn't want to pick anywhere too expensive!

10. If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life what would it be?
I think I'd have to say my simple moisturiser, purely because I can't imagine my skin looking very good if I didn't moisturise for the rest of my life..

11. Where would your dream holiday be to?

Anywhere with white sandy beaches and palm trees please and thank you.

I nominate:

Beauty Haul ft. Superdrug & Primark

This week is a month since I started my summer job, so today I decided to treat myself and picked up a few things from Superdrug and Primark that I've had my eye on for a while!

1. Maybelline Color Tattoo: on and on bronze| £4.99
I've been wanting to try this for a while after seeing a lot of people using it, so I finally caved and bought it from Superdrug. I love love love the shade 'on and on bronze' and I'm really happy with it so far. I love the shimmer in it (the picture doesn't do it justice), I'm also really liking cream shadow at the moment because it's so easy to apply and blends well.

2. Sleek blush: pixie pink| £4.49
This is another product I've been wanting for a while, and given that the lid came off one of my favourite blushes it seemed like a good excuse to buy a new one. I love how pigmented the sleek blushes are and this one really stood out to me. I bought a single blush as I didn't want to spend too much, but you can buy a set of 3 blushes for £9.99 at Superdrug, which works out better value if you want more than one.

3. baby lips lip balm: peach kiss| £2.99
I've been loving baby lips at the moment and I already have 'pink punch' and 'cherry me' which I use all the time. I don't tend to go for bold lips on a day to day basis because I prefer to save it for a night out or more special occasion, so these are perfect for a hint of colour during the day.

4. Barry M Gelly nails: Green berry, Rose hip and Prickly pear| £3.99 I've heard a lot of good things about Barry M's gelly nail polish ,but I'd never found any colours I particularly loved in this range. I'm loving their more recent colours and today I actually had the opposite problem- I wanted all of them. Luckily they're currently 3 for 2 at Superdrug so I could justify getting my three favourites. I've already tried 'Rose Hip' and loved how the colour looked and how shiny this polish is so I'm looking forward to trying the other two.

5. MUA Palette: Undress me too| £4
I don't often buy a lot of eye shadows but I love neutral tones so when I found this I fell in love. It comes with 12 shades including neutral tones, greys and metallics. I love the shimmery bronze colours and I think 'wink' and 'fiery' are my favourites so far.

6. Mini flower crown| £2
I recently watched Sprinkle of Glitter's new video and loved the flower crowns she'd bought. I've never been a fan of the larger ones, mostly because I didn't think I could pull it off, but I love these small ones and think they look really pretty around a bun. I found this one in Primark for only £2 (it comes in other colours too!) I've also used it for pony tails which I think looks really pretty.

7. Makeup bag| £5
The other Primark item I picked up was a new makeup bag. For a while I've been using the same small makeup bag  and storing my growing collection of makeup has been getting difficult. Today I was on the  lookout for a new makeup bag and was drawn to this one straight away. It's big enough to keep all my makeup in and I really loved the little bow on the front. It was definitely well worth the £5!

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this haul!
